Paradis Latin is one of the most popular Parisian Cabaret shows with a history that goes back to 1803! Napoleon Bonaparte first started the Latin theatre in 1803 which later over the years turned into the Paradis Latin. The current theatre built in 1889 was designed by Gustave Eiffel, with the latest renovation in 2018. ‘L’Oiseau Paradis’ is the latest new revue that premiered in May 2019.
The Paradis Latin show is the perfect combination of a traditional Cancan Cabaret show with the modernity of stage technology and latest choreography. The show evokes sensuality, emotion and humor with the visual grandeur of outrageous costumes and breathtaking acts. The historic venue is the cherry on the cake!
The iconic Paradis Latin has been renovated in 2018 after Walter Butler took over the venue. The venue has over 700 seats across its sections – The Great Hall, Mezzanine, Angel’s Bar and Nico’s Bar. The Great Hall was designed by Gustave Eiffel and is predominantly the reason why Paradis Latin finds itself in the history books!
The latest show at Paradis Latin is ‘L’Oiseau Paradis’ that means Bird of Paradise and is choreographed by the famous Kamel Ouali. The sets are designed by Alan Lagarde and over 500 costumes are used in the shows, which are designed by La Maison de Couture Parisienne.
The show has 15 different acts that feature the best of Parisian Cabaret, including French Cancan. The highlight is the use of technology to create illusions and a visual extravaganza that is complemented by the use of magnificent costumes. There are skits, dances and song performances throughout the show.
The lead dancer of Paradis Latin is Iris Mittenaere, who was Miss France and Miss Universe 2016. The stunning beauty looks gorgeous in the grand outfits and is joined by an international cast of dancers. Over 30 dancers participate in the show, who have been meticulously selected from over 1,000 applicants!
The Paradis Latin show “L’Oiseau Paradis” is a 1 hour 30 minutes spectacle that starts at 9:30 PM ends with a grand finale at 11:00 PM. The theatre has two levels of seating – Mezzanine and Balcony. The Mezzanine has the main seating with long rows of tables with opposite seating; there are also tables on the side lines, while the balcony has smaller tables. The classic decor and lighting is decadent and lends the venue an intimate vibe.
