A cabaret show in Paris is an evening of unbridled live entertainment with vivacious French Can-Can dancing and sexy performances that border on the risqué. Watching a cabaret show in Paris has become a must-do item on the tourist checklist and without a doubt, a quintessential Parisian experience!
The perception and reputation of the French Cabaret have changed over the centuries. The early 16th century Cabarets were the predecessors of restaurants and were a meeting point for people from all walks of life. Over time, in the 19th century, they started serving wine, food and a set program of entertainment, but its reputation was unsavoury. It all changed with the entry of venues like Moulin Rouge and Paradis Latin with their elaborate entertainment routines and ofcourse, the creation of the Can-Can dance!
The live entertainment became bigger and better with fantastic theatres and hi-tech stage effects. The shows started to include more acts including acrobats, jugglers, circus artists and burlesque performers and had elaborate themes. The cabaret has competed and outlasted the lure of cinema and other live performers with its unique offering of pure joyous entertainment!

Paradis Latin is one of the most popular cabaret shows in Paris and sticks to its roots by putting on the best dancing show with French Can-can, tap dancing and more. Initially opened by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1803, the Paradis Latin began as an entertainment venue and a place for the mingling of artists and intellectuals. It closed down in a fire and reopened in 1899 in a fantastic theatre built by Gustave Eiffel, but it was not destined to last. After a series of handovers, Paradis Latin finally opened its doors in 1977 forever with a show created by Jean-Marie River who breathed new life into it.
